GW-2120 MS JS
(Sorghum Bicolor X Sorgo Sorghum)

GW-2120 is a medium maturity male sterile juicy stalk hybrid forage sorghum for one cutting. Testing indicates 7-10 tons dry-matter/acre, sugar content 14-18% and good protein levels. Dryland one cut hay or grazing hybrid. When drying conditions are favorable it can be used for hay. Another grazing option is to leave the crop standing into the winter and graze (10-days) after a freeze. With improved early growth vigor, yield and quality this hybrid will win. Usually it is cut once the plant has headed out for highest sugar content. Sometimes cut it in the boot stage. Most times this hybrid averages 85-90% moisutre content while growing. GW-2120 is sterile -- it will not produce grain. Isolation is recommended to protect sterility. This hybrid replaces red top cane (early sumac). The growth and vigor is much better than what you would get from early sumac.
